Green Lanes in Canberra

This brief report, released in 2005, details the experiences of the ACT Government with green pavement treatment on on-road cycle lanes. At the time of writing, the lanes had been in place for three years.

Roads ACT developed a warrant system to determine where green cycle markings should be placed within the road network. This system assesses traffic speed, type of intersection, cycle and traffic volumes, visibility and if cycling facilities exist at the location.
